Girl Rule #1

All clothes from Grammy must be tried on immediately.
No need to take your other clothes off first. =)

Thanks, Grammy!! Suddenly we have to unpack our clothes for Brisbane to pack our new clothes. yep, another trip to Brisbane, this time to meet with the US consulate and get new passports for Emma and Beka and all Nathan's US citizen stuff. We'll be back on Sat. Evening.

Anti-Procrastination Tuesdays

This week's Anti-Procrastination project is all Josh's. (Technically so was the first one, the painting of the main room.) Anyway, he used his ANZAC day holiday to clean up the shed. I wasn't fast enough with the pictures but you could hardly walk in the shed and he took a FULL trailer load to the tip. The picture doesn't really show that it is truly more organized into containers and whatnot. MUCH BETTER than it was. =) (and the boxes on top of his ladder are waiting for the new school building-and his new office-to be finished.)

The main reason Josh went to the shed was to get the cot out for Nathan. We finally moved him out of our room. And Nathan quit procrastinating and decided to start sleeping through the night. (well, close enough, he woke up for a feed at 4:30 this morning)

He is still in the cradle though because we live in Queensland and even though we wrapped up the cot mattress it is still in need of a few days in the sun.

Hopefully, I will be able to post an update to the school room for AP Tuesdays next week. =)

  • has two teeth.
  • loves to smile.
  • loves his Mama (and not too many other people lately).
  • loves his Daddy.
  • loves his sisters~most of the time.
  • has just started pulling himself into a standing position.
  • just moved into Beka's room on Thursday night.
  • slept from 8pm - 3am Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
  • celebrated turning 8 months old by sleeping from 8pm - 6am Sunday night!!

Crafty update

Remember this post? Well, I did that without spending any money, except for new whiteboard markers. Well, I went to the scrapbook store the other day and bought some cute rub-ons. So for less than $5 I made something I'm even happier with.

And I finally got Nathan's frame done for the front room. I had chosen this paper originally but then decided on a different paper. but when I saw those cute star brads in the right colours at the scrapbook store I went back to my original plans. Turned out really cute albeit a bit crooked in parts. =) So I used paper I've had forever and spent 30cents on the pictures and the brads were $5 for the pack and I only used half.

And I'm linking up to Amy's Anti-Procrastination Tuesdays again.

Long Week

  • painted the main room last Saturday
  • had Fellowship Lunch on Sunday
  • Finally got the furniture moved back into place (from painting) on Monday
  • had an 8:30 swimming lesson on Monday (so nice though that now all 3 girls have the same lesson time and are in the group together and the time isn't in the middle of the day.)
  • had to drive home as it started raining to get our sheets off the line.
  • oh yeah, Nathan started the day by vomiting all over our bed.
  • After saving the sheets I took the 4 kids grocery shopping while Josh went golfing.
  • Yeah, that's how I felt about it too.
  • But at least we started back into our school work after a 2 week break.
  • Tuesday we cleaned the house. And Josh took Beka and Nathan to Aldi to pick up a few things and to drop off 4 loads of towels, sheets, blankets to the laundry lady.
  • Nathan vomited again. He has a cold this week. No runny nose but congestion and a yucky cough that makes him throw up.
  • We did school work as well.
  • Wednesday was crazy. 9:30 Ladies' Fellowship meeting here at the house, then Sauvageot's stayed for lunch, then at 3:30 the girls had eye exams and at 7 Bible study was at our house.
  • We got the girls' eyes checked because they've been learning about the 5 senses in their school work. Next up is hearing checks if we can ever get them booked in. At least we finally have a number to call.
  • Dr. wants to see Emma and Catie back in a year. Apparently they could use glasses. I think Josh said they are farsighted.
  • Dr. wants me to reschedule Beka's appointment. He wants me to bring her in, he'll give her eyedrops, then I take her away for an hour for them to work and then we go back and he does the eye exam again. Apparently the eyedrops will relax her eyes. He thinks her eyes are fine though but wants to make sure.
  • Thursday Josh had to work. We met the Sauvageot's at the library at 9:30 because our books were due that day. Then I took the kids to Aldi in hopes of finding another Tigger ice pack because Emma's busted. No luck. Then we spent the afternoon doing both Wed and Thursday's school work.
  • Friday Josh had to work. We got our school work mostly done.
  • The schoolwork would've been all done except it took a certain child 3 HOURS!!! to do one handwriting page.
  • I told her (when we were about 15 minutes into it) that she couldn't have lunch until the page was done. Sometime during the following 2 hours and 45 minutes she told me that she was "as hungry as a little bird who couldn't find any food."
  • Thankfully about half an hour after the page was FINALLY finished Josh came home and let me have some time on my own. So I headed to the post office and posted some birthday cards, then checked Big W for ice packs, then went to the little scrapbooking store for some black rub-ons for a project, and finished up with a little trip to the grocery store for juice as Josh was dying with only milk and water to drink. And I may or may not have bought some chocolate as well. and blueberry bagels. =)
  • So last night I did a couple quick projects that I've been meaning to do forever!!
  • Now, I'm off to do laundry. well, what laundry that can go in the dryer as it is raining. AGAIN!!! It has rained for 2.5 months out of the last 3. I am so over the rain. But at least it is nice and cool this week.

Anti-Procrastination Tuesdays

before--yellow

after-- Dulux Buff It

yeah, I know it's Wednesday already. =) But I finally get to post something to Amy's weekly Anti-Procrastination Party. Since this is school holidays for Josh we finally finished painting the main room. No more yellow!!! Maybe someday I'll get to post the finished front room! =)

oh yeah, and I also bought new curtains (have some more on layaway for the front room) and we moved Nathan's dresser out here to hold the new tv.

scrunchy face

where's the teeth?

Nathan has started scrunching up his face when he smiles and he looks so cute. He gets big chipmunk cheeks and you can see his teeth. I tried to take a picture but this is what I got. Of course I still think he's pretty cute. =)

Fun with friends

Nathan, Beka, Ashleigh, Emma, Catie (under the table) and Alex

Ashleigh, Emma and Catie

Nathan H. (fun fact~both Nathan's were born on August 26th. Just 3 years apart)
Ashleigh

When we went to Brisbane a week ago the girls finally got a chance to spend their gift card from Auntie Jennifer. We went through Toys 'R Us several times before they made their final choices. Beka chose goggles and I chose a pull along puppy for Nathan. Catie and Emma pooled their money together to purchase something Catie had been wanting "Forever!". The Playdoh ice cream shoppe. On Saturday they got it out to play with their friends. It kept 6 kids aged 3 - 7 occupied for over 2 hours!

Emma's Birthday party

Yes, her hair totally went into the candle flames. But thankfully did not catch fire. We had a nice time just eating, talking and playing. All the things we do best.
