Look, Ma!! Two wheels!!

Today I've learned to ride a bike
No more do I have a little trike

Gone are the days of training wheels
Riding a bike gives me lots of thrills

I like to pedal really fast
And feel the wind as it goes past

Its fun riding this bike of mine
I want to ride it all the time

Emma

She now knows the answer to "What happens when you stand in a wagon being pulled by your 6 year old sister and your 4 year old sister tells you not to stand in the wagon and pushes you over and you fall out of the wagon and hit your head on the laundry basket shelf?"

And it doesn't look nearly as dark in these pictures as it really is. And you can't really tell that her nose is swollen and her right (your left) eye has black under it as well.

And this is what she looked like earlier in the day when she came in the house from playing. (yes, those are tennis balls)

This child keeps life interesting!!

just playin' around

lotsa pictures

We went to UnderWater World the last week Mom and Dad were here.

Nathan and I were given a baby shower last Saturday. It was lots of fun and included a foot massage. So nice!! As you can see we played the game where you had to smell what the nappy was full of. We were given the option of tasting as well but most of us opted NO on that. we also played a game to see who could drink 100mls of water from a bottle the fastest. Gwen won!! =) And I was given the most beautiful, wonderful smelling purple rose bush. So gorgeous!! And Josh planted it for me as soon as we got home. I love it.

as always, you can click on the pics to make them larger. =)

oh my!!

So many things I've missed in the last couple of weeks.

My niece Rehanyn turned 5!!

Josh and I had our 8th wedding anniversary!!

I turned 32!!

My niece Adreyn turned 10!!

Father's Day was Sept. 6th.

My niece Ashleigh turned 8!!

Not pictured is Josh's brother Jason who also had a birthday. I think that's everything caught up now. Surely I haven't missed anything else, right?? sorry to the nieces for missing your birthdays. Although technically it is still the 10th in America so I haven't completely missed Ashleigh's.
Anyway, we're off to the doctor to get Catie checked out. Hopefully it isn't scarlet fever and hopefully we haven't passed it on to anyone else as we had ladies' fellowship meeting here the day that she first got a sore throat. =( We'll update later. TTFN!!

Woooooo Hooooooo

That's me yelling excitedly. I finally decided to try weighing myself this morning. I stepped on the scales rather tentatively expecting to see only a 3 or 4 kg weight loss. But as long as it was a loss I would be happy. Instead, (if my scales are to be believed) I saw that I have lost 12 kg since the last time I weighed before I got pregnant. 12 kg!!! That means I only have 13 kg to go to reach my wedding weight. Not only do I have a beautiful little boy but I got half way through my weight loss goal!! YAY!!!

I guess this means I should cut out the sodas and sweets and start taking walks with the girls. Anyone want to start walking with me??

Saturday

  • Mom and Dad left this morning. Beka was very upset and wanted to go with them.
  • Josh worked at the school for the morning and then came home and concreted some mowing strips around the gardens. The children and I had a quiet day at home. I even got a nap in!!
  • I have to get used to not referring to all my children as "the girls". =)
  • We took a walk as a family this evening. Well, Josh and I walked, the girls rode bikes/scooters, and Nathan got carried.
  • Catie learned to ride her bike without training wheels this afternoon!!
  • I got a load of laundry done.
  • Made cheese pizza for dinner.
  • All children got bathed/showered.
  • They are all in bed and asleep already.
  • I have less than 10 things in the sink to be washed.
  • The house is tidy.
  • I consider that to be a fairly successful first day without Mom and Dad.
p.s. I was trying to get a good picture of Nathan. I got lots of interesting looking ones but none I'd call good. The one I posted makes me laugh because it looks like my 10 day old baby is throwing some gang signs or something.
